Lincoln City v Nottingham Forest
The day Nottingham Forest came to Lincoln was one to be remembered.
It was a cracking season when City defied the odds and bounced straight back into the Football League at the first ask.
Colin Murphy had achieved his mission and the win against Wycombe on the last day of the season sealed the result.
Goals by Mark Sertori and Phil Brown in front of a crowd of 9,432 secured the victory needed for the Imps to get back into the Football League.
To celebrate this success and to open the new St Andrews Stand local rivals Nottingham Forest agreed to play the Imps in a friendly on 8th May 1988 and Brian Clough duly brought his side to Sincil Bank.
If you want to collect the programme for that match it is now on eBay and proceeds will be going towards The 12th Imp entering the Name Our Stadium draw.
