Boyd Joins On Trial

Former Hartlepool United, Boston United (loan), Luton Town, Leyton Orient and Celtic Nation player Adam Boyd has joined The Imps on trial.

The 30 year old striker had two spells at Hartlepool he played 242 games and scored 71 goals.

He joined the squad on Tuesday and has done enough to impress David Holdsworth so he has asked him to remain with us for a bit longer so there is every chance he could be signing a contract in the near future.

Can't see us signing him unless another striker picks up an injury!

Or unless someone leaves? Or Duffys injury keeps him out for a longer time then we thought.?

Hadn't thought about that. Maybe one of our other strikers is on their way out in the near future.

Now he would be a good signing, but as has been pointed out, we have enough strikers.

But is he better than what we have and how long is Duffy out for. Obviously DH won't make his mind up until the player is given a chance of getting fit again. But once a goal scorer always a goal scorer and lowering his sights to our league might just keep that goal scoring record going a bit longer we all hope.

I think he may be being brought in due to Duffy not being available for some time.

Will probably join on 'non-contract' terms then!
