Overall Player Ratings For October

October turned out to be a month of much higher scoring than the previous two, with decent results against Mansfield and Stockport added to (slightly laboured) cup progression and that stunning win away at Wrexham.

Those games led to a number of players averaging over the benchmark score of 6, including Jake Sheridan (6.33), Peter Gilbert (6.14), Andrew Boyce (6.25) and the consistent Paul Farman, who scored 6.82 despite his worst performance of the season against Luton (5.43). The goalkeeper's average would have comfortably won the player of month award in September, but fortunately there were two other star performers in October.

One of those was the indomitable Tom Miller, who put in the performance of the season so far in the second fixture against Halifax. Miller scored 8.8 in that one, and when you add that to his 7.83 against Wrexham and 7.25 against Mansfield, he's had the makings of a very good month. Those scores have taken him to the lead of the overall player rater, and Miller's average of 7.21 puts him in second place for October.

No surprises therefore that the player of the month was Jamie Taylor, with an excellent average of 7.36. Taylor took three man of the match awards in his six outings, scoring 7.14 against Luton, 8.33 against Wrexham (joint with Conner Robinson) and 8.46 against Stockport. He broke the seven barrier in the Halifax replay as well as the Mansfield game, with the only blemish being his 5.4 against Halifax at home - although that one turned out to be an aberration for all involved!

That's Taylor's second player of the month award in three, as he scooped a score of 6.99 in August. Here are the rest of the ratings for this month:
