Average Player Ratings V Walsall (H)

City managed to get themselves in the hat for the second round of the FA Cup courtesy of a 1-1 draw with League One Walsall. The Saddlers sit 13th in their respective division and as such fans were positive about the Imps' display, even if it could have been so much better when Jamie Taylor netted on the stroke of half time.

It was no surprise that Taylor scored the highest of any city player once again, and having threatened to take the highest score of the season with a couple of marks over 8 already he has finally done so, with a quite excellent 8.92 surpassing Tom Miller's robust performance at Halifax.

In second place was the improving Mo Fofana, who broke the 7 mark for the first time with an average of 7.50, which included several 8's and a 9! Peter Gilbert and Tom Miller scored 7.42 and 7.33 respectively, with the former gaining the highest mark for a left back performance all season.

Unusually, none of the starters scored below 6.00 - the only time that has happened previously was the Wrexham away game. It was also a rare occasion that several posters scored City at an overall average of above 7, with !mpetuous and dutch1585 awarding scores of 7.08, while Julestheimp gave City 7.00. The lowest mark was 6.69, which came from four posters: BrownImp, Luke Imp, Stevie_Imp and Rottweiler. Not often is there such a low range and so much consensus - a good example would be the fact every single poster scored Jake Sheridan a 7.00!

The full player ratings are as follows:

P. Farman 6.58
D. Gray 6.58
A. Boyce 6.92
T. Miller 7.33
P. Gilbert 7.42
A. Smith 6.00
G. Mills 6.00
M. Fofana 7.50
J. Sheridan 7.00
A. Power 7.00
J. Taylor 8.92

N. Nicolau 6.00
C. Larkin 5.92
