'If It's Football, It's Vital'

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today, 6pm to be precise, I officially signed the contract to take over Vital Lincoln.

I'll be completely honest and say I didn't really know what I was letting myself in for. I don't regret taking on the site. We have a great team of moderators and site journalists and the members on the site do a brilliant job every month to ensure that the site raises as much money as possible.

I would like to thank Rick Keracher who helped me a lot when I first took over the site and also those at Vital Football for being patient with me while I learnt the ropes so to speak. Rick has continued his support throughout the year and I couldn't be any more grateful that I am!

I'm not much of a writer as you can probably tell by this which is why it was important to bring in someone to do match previews/reviews and any other articles they wish to publish. James has done a terrific job since he has been involved and I really appreciate the time he and the other site journalists and moderators put in to keep this site running as well as it can.

In the last year we have grown as a site on Facebook and Twitter which has increased the number of people we are reaching massively. Anyone on Twitter, Facebook or Google+ can play their part in sharing links to our articles using the buttons at the top.

Despite the ups and downs on the pitch I have loved every minute of being involved with the site so far. I love keeping busy because it takes my mind away from other things and I also know that the site is raising money for the club so that drives me forwards and makes try and work that little bit harder.

I believe it's important that members are involved in the running of the site and deciding where the money goes so once the next payment is made (at the end of November) we will be having a vote to see what the money should go towards. It can go towards things such as player sponsorship or match ball sponsorship.

We're always looking for new suggestions and new people to join our team of journalists so if you'd like to get involved please get in touch via PM or email: lincoln@vitalfootball.co.uk

I also believe it's extremely important that I reveal the totals raised each month. So below I have provided the figures for November 2011 to October 2012.

You will see that the totals are very much up and down but in the last three months have been extremely good and this month we are on to raise even more than last month which is absolutely brilliant.

2011
November: £113.96
December: £108.08

2012
January: £141.12
February: £78.40
March: £111.44
April: £99.96
May: £92.12
June: £73.64
July: £99.68
August: £135.24
September: £146.16
October: £153.16

Aims for the next year:

- Continue growing on the Social Media sites.
- Hit at least 8000 points a month in members league
- Raise at least £150 a month
- Renew the sites top banner

Supporting this club hasn't been easy over the last few years but this unbeaten run has shown us we have a team worth supporting so hopefully we can continue that unbeaten run today at home against Hereford and finish around 10th this season to give us something promising to build on for next season.
