Here's what supporters have said about Sheridan on the forum.

'I was definitely perplexed by David Holdsworth's decision to give Jake Sheridan a new contract at the end of last season.

However, I have to admit that, on current form, I was wrong.

Sheridan was excellent today (Hereford United) and never stops running. He is a fit lad and his work rate is superb. He is now showing that he can make the right choices with his passing and his skills are beginning to show through. The run which he made from his own half to earn the penalty was just top notch.

Really pleased for the lad.'

'I'd rather have him than an Adam Smith/Danny Lloyd-type winger who's maybe got more tricks and a quicker burst of pace, but are much less involved. He's effective and hard-working - exactly what you need to do well at this level.'

'Jake is a top player. I did not think he was used well in the first half but in the second half when the Bulls were on the charge he was great ,closing down and showing great energy.'

'Sheridan is most improved for me, closely followed by Power. I would still like to see a natural left-footer on the left-wing as I think for all Smith's runs, you always know he's going to cut inside.'

'Sheridan's an honest lad. Minimum requirement is workrate and he gives you that every game, even if he's not having his best one.

I think we're seeing the Sheridan that we saw on his debut against Ebbsfleet last season.

Like Brown says, I'd rather have him than a Lloyd type winger. I don't think it's an coincidence that we've looked a bit more solid this season with having two wingers who don't mind doing the dirty work in the other direction, and two full backs, who will support from the behind rather than overlap.

Should have probably had another 3 or 4 goals to him name, though.'

'Sheridan was superb and that run and move for the penalty was superb.'
