Average Player Ratings for December

The period from playing Mansfield at home in the cup through to Gateshead on the 29th December was one of great promise after a superb November, but it hasn't quite turned out the way City fans had hoped. The Imps have managed just one win in that time, a 4-2 victory away at Dartford in which the team was fairly comprehensively overhauled! Losses against Woking, Mansfield away and Grimsby mean the overall ratings aren't particularly great this month.

The player who has therefore been the best of a bad bunch is Alan Power! The Irish midfielder had some shocking ratings earlier in the season, but has impressed in the hole and then done okay back in central midfield. This has led to an average rating this month of 6.69, which included two marks over seven and the best ratings against Mansfield and Grimsby.

Second place - perhaps surprisingly in a side that has shipped a few goals - is Tom Miller, who always seems to do well on the player rater. He has averaged 6.46, and may have won the day were it not for his performance against Grimsby (5.29). Miller still leads the overall standings.

And finally, third goes to Colin Larkin (6.38) courtesy of that hat trick against Dartford. He is likely to feel a little hard done by having failed to start down the middle since those three goals, having short cameos at Mansfield and against Woking and Grimsby. He was rather marooned out wide against Gateshead, a game he scored 5.82 in.

At the other end of the table there are a few scores to perhaps avoid reading! Gary Mills has the worst average of the regular players (4.40) including scores of 2.93, 3.06 and 4.4. The midfielder was saved by a somewhat better showing at Dartford, else it could have been even worse! The lowest average actually went to Aristide Bassele, who is unlikely to turn out ever again in the red and white of Lincoln having scored 2.11 in his one appearance this month against Woking. David Morgan (4.20), Scott Garner (4.69) and Adam Smith (4.84) have all failed to impress.
