Your Views - The Imps 1-2 Forest Green Rovers

Here's what some of our members said after The Imps 2-1 home defeat against Forest Green Rovers

'Why do we have to give teams two or three goals start before we wake up and realise we are in a football match.

It was clear first ten minutes they were hitting balls over the top, breaking quickly and seeing what gives. Couldn't deal with it. 1 nil down.

They then regrouped and looked to catch us on the break. Scrambled effort and 2 nil down.

Second half we closed down much better and looked in it for a change.

But we cant expect to compete when we give them a two goal start. End of.

Impressed with Thompson but needed to support the attack more.

February will be interesting. If we cant stop leaking goals deep trouble ahead. Funny really cos up to the end of November our goal difference was impressive. Lacking defensive midfielder to protect the defence. Need Fofana back.'

'No quality, no plan and if we continue like this, no hope. You can get by with average players if you HAVE A PLAN. We don't have one. We don't close down, we don't play to a particular style and we don't defend as a unit. Those failings can ONLY be laid at the door of the manager.'

'I could have sworn that I went to Sincil Bank this afternoon. However, after listening to Holdsworth's post match interview I'm not so sure. He certainly didn't seem to be watching the game that I was.'

'While accepting that injuries have played some part in disrupting things, so has squad tinkering. I would have accepted a downturn in form under those circumstances.

However what I saw today was that any momentum gained from the good run we had has completely collapsed - and so quickly. There seemed little spirit and even allowing for the above factors that is a serious concern.'

'But seriously, what's the plan? I can't see one. Football's a pretty simple game at the end of the day. It's not just about 'gelling', it's about having a credible approach to the game that works on a particular scheme of play week after week. Can anyone tell me after watching the team this season what the plan is? I simply have no idea and neither, it appears, do the players.'

'I am not sticking up for DH, far from it, and he does deserve stick for his tinkering ahead of the Mansfield replay (I could see some sense in that, really, and one of his changed sides did win 4-2 at Dartford), but injuries have meant he has had to change things around. We have had injuries and players losing form all at the same time.'
