Heed delight at Bore capture

Gateshead manager Anth Smith has been waxing lyrical about new signing Peter Bore, following his debut for the Heed against Tamworth at the weekend.

The former Lincoln utility player was shown the door by Imps manager David Holdsworth early last month after a disappointing 12 months with the club where he played just 18 times, scoring twice, and has since penned a deal with Gateshead. And Smith reckons he has a cracking player on his hands. He said: 'I was delighted to get Bore. He is a player with both a Football League and Conference background who brings pace to the team. He can also play in multiple positions and did well during his trial period at the club, much of which was indoors due to the weather.

'I was pleased with his debut at Tamworth. He took his chance with both hands and could have scored had Henderson picked him out instead of shooting. Bore defended well and got forward. He hasn't played for a while so needs to build up his match fitness and he felt his hamstring slightly so came off as a precaution.'
