Imps travel to Stockport this Tuesday

The Imps have a chance to build on Saturdays hard earned win with an trip away to Stockport this Tuesday evening. Last time out the Imps ended their long win less streak with a 2-1 victory at home to Dartford. A later penalty scored by Larkin gave the imps all three points. A great achievement after playing nearly an hour with ten men after Jake Sheridan was harshly sent off.

Stockport are just one point behind the imps so far this season in the table sitting in 17th place to the Imps 14th. Both sides have not had great seasons and have suffered from inconsistency. Stockport lost 3-1 at the weekend away to Wrexham. But in the previous match they secured a 3-2 home victory over struggling Nuneaton to keep them just out of the relegation places just like the Imps.

Lincoln could have Mo Fofana available for selection again after he returned to training at the end of last week. It is highly unlikely that he will start but he could find himself on the bench to get a few minutes late on. With Fofana returning we only really have Mills out injured. With Duffy seemingly dropping off of the face of the Earth. The availability of key players will hopefully see a more consistent team selection from David Holdsworth. Young loanee winger Jake Jones must surely be pushing for a start following his lively cameo at the weekend especially when his direct competitor for the left wing spot, Adam Smith, has so far been woeful in his time at Sincil Bank. New loan striker Hobson is unavailable for this match as he is unable to play against his parent club.

Stockport have made a late loan signing in 18 year old Swedish defender Johan Hammar who has arrived form Everton. It is likely he will go straight into the squad to face the Imps. He is joined by another Swede in Adnan Cirak who signed just before the weekend. He also should be in the squad and could make his début.

Following Saturdays hard earned win and much more disciplined display I think the Imps will go to Edgeley Park full of confidence and hopefully they will come away with another 3 points and climb further away from the relegation places. The sooner the club do this the sooner contracts for both the management and playing staff can be looked at for next season.
