Wright Signs

Wright Signs

The Imps have today announced that we have signed former Birmingham City, Tamworth, Bristol City, Kidderminster Harriers and Mansfield Town Striker Nick Wright on a one-year contract.

The 25 year-old joined Birmingham City's youth academy as a teenager but failed to progress into the first team set up.

While at Birmingham City he was loaned out to the following Clubs:

2006
Tamworth (1 app, 0 goals)
Bristol City (4 apps, 0 goals)
Northampton Town (4 apps, 0 goals)

2007
Ashford Town (No stats available)

Wright was released by Birmingham City at the end of the 2006/07 season and he then joined local side Halesowen Town. (No stats available)

In October 2007 he returned to Tamworth and during his time there he made a total of 79 appearances and scored 27 goals.

Nick was placed on the transfer list by Gary Mills in December 2009 and left the Club in the summer of 2010.

In 2010 he joined Kidderminster Harriers on a one-year deal. While there he made 82 appearances and found the bag of the net 23 times in total.

On the 11th June 2012 he joined Mansfield Town on a free transfer and while there he made a total of 17 appearances but only managed to find the net on 1 occasion.

At the age of 25 he certainly seems to know where the goal is so hopefully he'll be able to come up with the goods next season for The Imps. With the right service I believe he could bag 15-20 goals.
