Reaction to 2013/14 Imps Fixtures

Reaction to 2013/14 Imps Fixtures

Below you will find what some of our fans think of the 2013/14 Conference Fixtures.

'A tricky little opener that game could be. Still think it's daft to be playing Codheads twice in the space of a week...'

'Forest Green, Cambridge and Wrexham's a horrible three-game run so early in the season!'

'Southport and Hereford are the only Tuesday night away games scheduled. Neither are great trips for a Tuesday!'

'Was just looking at midweek games. Ignoring Christmas and Easter 5 at home and 2 away. I hate midweek home games. Will be more due to postponements but pre-planned midweek games should be more evenly distributed I think.'

'First home game on a Tuesday night. Utter garbage.'

'Can't say I'm best pleased with the fixtures:

- Away start (but 12 teams have to, I'm not blaming the people who sort this stuff)
- First home game on a Monday
- Games 2 to 5 is a horrible run (Macc, FGR, Cambridge, Wrexham)
- Grimsby games unchanged.
- Ideal trip to Halifax sandwiched between the Grimsby matches.

At least we end with a winnable home game if we need to win to survive/get play-offs.'

'Certainly a tough opening 6 with 3 of those teams you'd expect to be 'up there'.

Only Hereford and Southport as the ones that aren't decent midweek away games and there seems to be less midweek games as it stands and all are in the first half of the season?

That'll no doubt change when the cups and/or TV come into play.'

'Sensible to have mid-week games early in the season so, later on, Tuesday nights are free for re-arranged games due to postponements. Hopefully no-one'll have fixtures backing up and end up playing Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday towards the end of the season!'

'Pretty pleased with the way the fixtures have panned out. The whole thing seems to be a lot more sensible than last year. Would have liked a home start but Woking away is not a bad trip. The following games will show us where we are and where we need to be early on after playing the other top sides. That will then allow Mr Simpson to really get sorted out if need be. All in all not a bad job. Looking forward to it immensely. UTI. Get to the games if you can. Fans support will be vital!!'
