Today The Imps take on Lincoln United (The Whites) at Ashby Avenue in what will be the first pre-season friendly Imps fans will be able to attend after we played at Chesterfield behind closed doors during the week. This game will kick-off at 3pm.

Against Chesterfield we changed the side every 30 minutes and it sounds like we're going to have two different teams on the pitch each half against The Whites with a number of trialists appearing alongside Imps players.

Both Nat Brown and Andrew Boyce are currently suffering from slight knocks and will not appear if they are struggling ahead of the game against United.

New Imps signings Sean Newton, Jon Nolan, Danny Rowe, Adi Yussuf, Nick Wright and Waide Fairhurst will be making their first appearances in a City shirt.

The Whites have played one pre-season game so far. They travelled to Grimsby Borough of the Northern Counties East League Division One and won 3-1 with former Imp Andy Hutchinson scoring one of the United goals.

Former Imps left-back Paul Mayo will not be in the United squad because he is currently out injured. United also have three other former Imps on their books. Andy Hutchinson, Any Toyne and Nathan Adams.

Lincoln United Manager, Dave Frecklington, is looking forward to the challenge of playing The Imps.

On the Lincoln United website he referred to Lincoln City as 'top quality opposition' and also said 'City are full-time, so it will also provide a good guide to where we are fitness wise on top of coping with the extra quality.'

The admission prices are as follows:

Concessions: £3
Under 12's: FREE
