Sam-Yorke Recalled

Sam-Yorke Recalled

It has today been announced that Cambridge United have recalled Delano Sam-Yorke.

Simpson did try and sign him on a permanent basis and Cambridge United had accepted an offer for him a few weeks ago but unfortunately personal teams couldn't be agreed.

Reaction on the forum:

'Need a similar player in sharpish!'

'Ouch. I don't care what anyone says, since he signed we've effectively been a two-man team: Sam-Yorke and Tomlinson, and the reason Tomlinson's been doing so well is because of Sam-Yorke. A replacement is an absolute must, even if it's just for a month to get us the required points to be safe. We'll stay up, but unless we start to get the ball down, or bring in someone as good as Sam-Yorke, mid-table's looking a bit over-ambitious. I assume Simpson'll go back in for Oliver and Parkin, but Parkin seems to play fairly regularly for Fleetwood, and we've already been turned down twice for Oliver.'

'Well done to Sam-Yorke, though. He's more than earned the chance to play at Wembley. I've never known a player be so important to everything we do on the pitch so soon after signing.'

'Not great - hopefully he's done his job for us and we can scrape by without him. I was looking at the table last night and couldn't help notice how relatively few goals Cambridge have scored. Maybe they will give him a try. It can't be any clearer the type of player we need in the Summer.'

'Work for Simmo to do now.

Well done to DSY for his stint here.

Let's hope it doesn't go all a bit Tilson with the loan signings disappearing and our form with them!'

'We're going need a decent replacement quick otherwise we really are going to struggle for the remainder of the season. Please Simmo try and get a like for like replacement in.'

'Knew that we should have kept quiet about how well he was doing for us!!'
