'If It's Football, It's Vital'

VL Members MOTM V Braintree Town (H)

Vital Lincoln Members voted for who they believe was The Imps Man of The Match in our 2-0 win against Braintree Town in the Skrill Premier Division yesterday afternoon.

Here's how the poll finished:

Townsend: 0%
Newton: 15.79%
Brown: 0%
Miller: 63.16%
Audel: 10.53%
Jordan: 0%
Adams: 5.26%
Power: 5.26%
Sheridan: 0%
Bright: 0%
Tomlinson: 0%

And to the comments:

Bert Bowery: 'Newton a true Captains performance.'

NottyImp: 'Yep, Newton. Attacking threat and dangerous delivery against a weak 'keeper.'

CrazyTuba: 'Miller for me!'

Rasenimp: 'Miller for me. Made a couple of last ditch tackles, some good touches and somehow one of our main attacking threats from sweeper. One particularly brilliant back header under pressure.'

SIMJON: 'Miller or Newton for me. Miller because he was so effortlessly good at the back and Newton because his corners were excellent today, and the only way we would have won the game was via set pieces.'

Steve O'Dare: 'Audel for me. Superb defensive display and a goal.'

Big Jack McGinley: 'Miller. Good to see Newton back on form though.'

Luke Imp: 'Been touched on here before, but I do wonder whether we'll see Miller end up in a back three sooner rather than later.'

bbh 11: 'Miller, fractionally ahead of Newton , I thought the two were head and shoulders above the rest.'

Skip155: 'It's been said a few times that we seem to have the players for a back 3 with a couple of wing backs. Agree with all that's been said about both Miller and Newton. Tactically Miller sweeping and Newton more advanced down the left sounds great and looks great on the odd occasion we've seen it.'

SIMJON: '3 at the back definitely makes us a lot stronger defensively. How we can adapt that to also being a threat going forward is the puzzle for Simmo to crack. We look a lot more dangerous from set pieces now Newton takes all the corners, so that may, similar to KAs first playoff season, be enough to nick a fair few games. 3/5 at the back and DSY for all of next season and I'd definitely be optimistic of our chances.'
