Parkin poised to join Imps on trial

Parkin poised to join Imps on trial

Veteran striker Jon Parkin is poised to join City for pre-season training this week, with boss Gary Simpson set to run the rule over the well-travelled frontman, who was released by Fleetwood at the end of the season.

When quizzed about it, Imps boss Gary Simpson remained non-commital in his answer, but did add 'you'll just have to wait and see' and it seems highly likely that Parkin, 32, will hook up with City next week in readiness for next weekend's home friendly with Chesterfield.

He has been linked with Lincoln in the past on several occasions and despite City seemingly being unable to afford a player of his calibre, a move could now be closer to fruition as Parkin seems to be starved of options of this summer and could be keen to see first-team action at the Bank.
