Lincoln City are through to the Final of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup after beating Scunthorpe United 1-0 at Glanford Park. The Imps goal came in the 20th minute from a Sean Newton free-kick.

Scunthorpe United: Slocombe, Nolan, Boyce, Waterfall, Williams, Myrie-Williams, McAllister, Sparrow (Sutton 80'), Adelakun (Burdett 80'), Madden, Taylor (Wootton 80').

Subs: Weaver, Hood.

The Imps: Farman, Miller (Caprice 41'), Newton, Nolan, Tomlinson, Kabba (Ledsham 74'), Bencherif, Diagne , Burrow, Jordan, Brown.

Subs: Chambers, Ledsham, Simmons, Everington.

Attendance: 729 (123 Imps)

It was revealed after the game that former Blackpool, Crystal Palace and Dagenham Defender Jake Caprice has agreed, in principle, to join The Imps.

Simpson also said that he'd love to sign Bencherif but admitted that money is an issue.

Reaction to the result:

gijsbert_bos: "Sounds like we've had plenty of chances anyway. Not going to get excited though...I remember us soundly beating a strong Villa side one year and that season was dreadful..."

Rasenimp: "Decent win again!"

PWould: "Don't want to over egg the pudding, but three wins on the spin against teams two leagues above us?? What is going on? Trying desperately not to get overexcited down here in the West Country!!"

Eagle_imp: "Happy with that! Up the imps!"

YatesyImp: "Very happy with that! UTI"

SIMJON: "1 goal conceded against 3 league teams, maybe the defence/keeper aren't so bad?"

Reaction to Caprice news:

YatesyImp: "Good news."

SIMJON: "I hope he isn't just a rb, because if he is, and that is where Simmo wants to play Miller, Caprice has his work cut out to get games."

Big Jack McGinley: "Caprice right wing back? Miller sweeping in a back three?

But your right, if Simpson is planning on playing Miller there it might be difficult. Unless he can play in front of Miller on the right. I haven't seen him yet but I heard he delivers a very good cross."

PWould: "This is further good news. Unsure where he will play when Miller is fit, but obviously the kid has something. Probably the end of hopes for Audel though?"

SIMJON: "I'd like to see Miller in a back 3, but you have to presume that since we're not going down that route in the friendlies then it isn't the plan."
