Freck's back at Lincoln

Freck's back at Lincoln

Prodigal son Lee Frecklington has made a fairytale return to Lincoln City, penning a two-and-a-half year deal with the Imps after leaving League One side Rotherham United.

The 32-year-old started his career at Sincil Bank and made 141 outings for City, before a four-season spell at Peterborough was followed by a move to the Millers, where he made just shy of 200 appearances, scoring 34 goals, and helped them earn back-to-back promotions in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 campaigns.

A return to Lincoln has been on the cards for some time and despite Mansfield's late bid to hijack the deal, Frecklington was revealed as an Imp at a press conference earlier today where he revealed 'I only ever wanted to join Lincoln' when asked about the Stags' interest.

Also penning a contract at Sincil Bank today was young midfielder Ellis Chapman, who put pen to paper on a first-ever professional deal, signing on the dotted line for two and a half years.

Leaving Lincoln today, though, was midfielder Billy Knott, who has joined League One side Rochdale on loan for the rest of the campaign.
