With Kwiss you'll get virtual spital and almost incomprehensible gobbledygook. I love Thommos dry humour and whilst we don't all agree with what he says s sometimes, with his pedigree as a player and manager his insight into the game are invaluable.

Hortin & Thompson are one of the best local radio commentary teams out there. Hortin is very likeable and very good at his job, and Thommo is just Thommo. It is actually unfair to compare Lincoln's amateur commentators to them, because - as Chesterimp says - there is no contest.

They both have their strengths and weaknesses. As said its not a competition when comparing a seasoned professional journo and Ex player/manager to some enthusiastic fans. I like the way Alan goes down at gets the gates and sometimes even gets access to DCs half time talk in the changing room.

However last year Michael Hortin was outstanding.

Agreed, it's not a competition - I'm an enthusiastic fan of the Imps (as most others are on here are) but I would not put myself forward as a radio commentator. Other clubs on iFollow use the local BBC local radio feed. But the club whist they have moved on on a quantum leap on an off the pitch for those paying £45 for internet commentary we are still living in the dark ages.

Rob Makepeace on commentary duties for the next 4 weeks as Michael Hortin is away in France doing a special report on WWI on a Lincolnshire family that lost 5 of it's members.

I much prefer the BBC Radio Lincolnshire commentary and wish someone from the club would explain why a deal wasn't agreed and whether they are monitoring customer feedback to make a decision for next season.

Nothing against the club commentary team but it's just not half as good and i'm sick of hearing Ashton (again nothing against him) just shout random things while i'm trying to listen to what is happening at the game!

I don't really rate either of them. As I don't live local I cant listen to Hortin and Thommo anymore. My Criticism of Hortin is he has zero knowledge of the opposition before he starts. So when the opposition have the ball he's going "and the ball is cleared by the Exeter defender". "Strong tackle by the Luton defender, and Luton come away with the ball" It wouldn't hurt him to take his time a little bit and at least have a bit of an idea of what some of them look like. They've all got numbers on their backs which makes it easier for a commentator. Secondly, the amount of times there's a goal and he's assuming we've seen it. "oh dear, what was that Thommo?" or "Terrible play by the defence". Like we're supposed to know what the hell that means. Which defence was terrible and exactly how terrible was it?

Does he? Wishful thinking methinks - it would be unprofessional if he did.

Not overly bothered about Hortin. He gets a bit carried away like Jonathan Pearce but I tune in for Thommo.

Really enjoyed BBC coverage.

I think it's absolute balls that I can't listen to it now and don't want to shell out more money for it when I already shell out plenty of money watching the Imps. Not a fan of it at all.

Alan has brought titbits back from the changing room. Nothing specific and not often but he does get around the ground as a spare summariser and pick up things. Just adds to the coverage. Also like the 100% Lincoln bias.

One can't accuse Hortin of not being biased which is fair dinkum - but paying £45 for fan boys who think they are in the know, slavering over a mic no thanks.

Hopefully no discussion on press box hospitality, or even eating whilst trying to discuss said hospitality. At halftime I might add.
