Am I the only one who's not totally convinced he's staying?

DC said on Tuesday that he'd be back in training today and today said he didn't train but he'd hopefully be back tomorrow. He might genuinely be injured, I'm not sure, but it's just a gut feeling.

Whenever he's been mentioned since mid-December, the conversation seems to move on quite quickly every time.

He was mentioned in one of the days press conferences! I got the impression Burnley are reviewing it as not happy with his game time!

Totally agree. He was very evasive when asked about him.

Danny wants four wide players but he certainly looks like being fourth choice for the rest of the season. It would be understandable if he was attracted to the opportunity of playing elsewhere where he'd be more confident of playing every week to earn himself a deal for next season.

Gets too many niggling injuries for me, when he joined us last season he was in and out with a minor injury here and there.

He's got a lot of promise but is yet to deliver consistently. Anderson, Rowe and Arnold appear to be ahead of him.

Stewart is on the fence as his deal expires this month and may not have done enough for an extension.

Will Ginnelly go elsewhere? Will Cowley bring another in?

We'll see.

DC keeps talking the lad up, but pushing for a promotion or play off slot we can do better.

Clear the decks for a playoff push i say but the Burnley site assumes he is here till the end of the season.

Get out of jail card for DC would be "Sean i don`t think i can guarantee Gino game time with all these wingers i am signing"
Dyche replies"stick him in a taxi and send him back"
problem solved
The clear out has started.

That's what I'm thinking.

Being so non-committal, I wonder whether he'd like another winger, and let Ginnelly and Stewart go. That'd leave us with four wingers in Rowe, Anderson, Arnold +1.

Personally I think Ginnelly has had plenty of chances here but has not really progressed enough for me. He definately has talent but is clearly down the pecking order and given his performances this season rightly so.
As DC always says it's about Lincoln City first so there can be no guarentees regarding playing time. And if that means a recall for Ginnelly to Burnley then so be it...

Can't see Burnley recalling him unless they have someone interested in offering him a contract. He is a million miles of getting anywhere near Burnleys First team and I would be amazed if they would offer him a new contract. I think he could well be going the same way as Billy Knott but Natonal League not league one.

He's still very young and very raw, we're not going to see the best of him for a couple of seasons yet I feel.

This. Danny clearly sees something in him or he wouldn't be back this year at all - in Danny we trust....

I like Josh. He does make a difference when he get his chances. And i shall always remember just how much he celebrated promot├Čon. He seemed the most thrilled of all the players that day.
I think he will stay.

Agree with the fact he has something about him and quite like him as a player. However consistency not his strongest quality, nor it seems is match fitness. I'd be happy for him to stay as 4th choice (as I trust DC who clearly sees something in him).

However, if as seems likely we get Jordan Williams from Rochdale then not sure where this leaves Josh, other than on a bus back to Burnley and a loan move elsewhere.

He's been seen looking around show houses up the top end of lincoln, so not sure he's off!

Agree he's very much the unfinished article but one interesting thing that pops up is DC saying at the start of the season (when asked on being light on strikers) is that they were trying to get Gino to play there. So possibly that is the thinking, we're not keeping exclusively as a winger, but also a part time striker?

What makes anyone think the conversation with Burnley is about whether the loan is to continue?

How about discussions over a permanent transfer?

Ginnelly has not had a lot of game time (11 starts) because he has been injured on and off since the start of the season. When that happens, it is impossible to achieve any degree of consistency or performance. Remember he has managed to score three goals in that time, which is no bad return.

I think he is worth persisting with. I genuinely believe we would not have beaten Macclesfield without him, and no one knows what might have happened in the final two games if we hadn't. This season, his goal against Notts County was scored by a player with lots of ability.

I would like to see how he fares over the second half of the season, and don't forget he is only 20.

We can do better? Who would you suggest?

Clear the decks? With 19 players?
