I'd like to thank Alan, Chris and Kev etc. for their efforts particularly as it was almost certainly on a volunteer basis, it's not an easy job I'm sure (although I'm confident I could do at least as well as Chris) hopefully you guys can now just relax and enjoy watching the Imps without the stress of delivering the commentary...

I'm not sure stress was ever evident.

If Hortin or Thommo make ironic references to 'the old onion bag' tomorrow there may be consequences in Chester....

I think you could detect many times that the transmissions were a bit of a string and bailing wire effort, lets not let Chris' idiosyncrasies blind us to the fact that their were 4 people in the team and it was clear to me that there was often much scurrying in the background while Chris held the fort on the Mic with some long statistical minutiae

Just to clarify, does this mean ONLY the i-Follow "radio" commentary coverage or will they also do the commentary on the live TV match coverage (I hope so as I love the TV coverage but am fed up listening to the amateur commentator sat in what sounds like a wooden shed, echoing, listening to him cough and yawn - YES YAWN!) during games and getting players names wrong, whats happening, incidents, etc.

Other than the Accy Chuckuptrade Trophy match where the club clearly paid for extra services such as multi-cameras and seperate commentary there has only been one commentary feed for the video and audio only. I don’t see why that will have changed and I would fully expect you to have have an option to use Aunties audio over the video feed.

The commentary for the video feed I have had when watching outside the UK has been provided by Guy Owen not by Chris et al. Lets hope the BBC will cover both streams as they are different!

Although licensing may dictate:
"Sometimes we might not be able to make certain content available outside of the UK. For example, for rights reasons we may not be able to braodcast certain sports coverage outside of the UK"

I'll reserve judgement until after the County game today (tonight for me) but I just hope & pray video feed now has Hortin & Thommo commentating. Would make the whole coverage so much better and professional.

Careful what you wish for Perth. As they are different feeds it’s likely there will be timing differences between audio and video. That wouldn’t be great in my opinion.

Agreed, In any case as well as being out of sync with the video, the commentary team are always on the opposite side of the ground from the camera.

So for me outside the UK nothing has really has changed, I can listen to the pre match with Hortin and Co, watch the live video, listening to the crowd noise. As has been said the commentary on the video is in sync, but not very good. Then switch back to Hortin after the game.

Works for me though, no complaints there.

OKAY - just as I thought, the video commentary still provided by guy Owen. He does get marginally better each game, but I would still prefer Radio Lincs. having said that I can fully understand the overseas broadcasting license issues and the time-lag between audio and video coverage, so for the time being I'm happy to listen to the Radio Lincs coverage before and after the game and put up with Owen during the video coverage. Still better than in the past and at least I can see every game live.

Or you could just watch with no commentary? That’s always my choice when using iFollow.

But the bit that gets me is there is a time lag with the sound, compared to the picture, so when theres a goal you get no cheers for a couple of seconds, then you have a split second when you think its been disallowed. Same with the delay when the ref blows and play stops but sound is two seconds behind. Not good.
