I hate it when we blame the ref after a result doesn't go out way, however! He was either incredibly naive, falling for their antics time after time, or he came in with a prejudice view as to how we play. There were too many bad decisions to run through them all. My main gripe was with his polar opposite approach to reffing Rhead and Stead. It seemed Stead could do what he wanted while Rhead couldn't go near their centre halves. Their play acting was embarrassing as were their attempts to get our players carded. Tootle was an odious little creature.

Referee aside, a very encouraging performance, we've battered the second best team in the league and I've no doubt on that evidence that we'll be in the top seven at the end of year.

If, and it's a big if, we can get a clinical striker in there we'd be close to unstoppable. Many times there were breaks in the box that required an instinctive striker to snap it up, our three strikers have many qualities but ruthlessness isn't one of them. I appreciate how difficult these players are to find.

All in all, what a time to be a City fan. Great atmosphere, great attitudes, players to be proud of and the best management team we've potentially ever had. With power to add.

Today's game showed me just how far we have moved forward in the last 18 months we have battered a team who are 2nd best in our league in front of yet another full house.

We now have depth in the squad and playing like that we will beat most teams in this league, we should be nailed on for a top 7 finish and a good chance of top 3.

Great to see Freck back in a city shirt bc scoring again.

We started a bit nervous, but once Freck levelled I thought we were superb. New lads all did well.

By heck they have had the rub of the green against us this season. They will say I’m bitter, but genuinely believe we are a better side than they are, just hope the league table reflects that come the end of the season.

An easier spell of games coming up, at least on paper, starting with bottom side Barnet next week.

Looking forward to it with Jules and a few beers

Really good game, and with better finishing from Green in particular, we’d have won that by two or three.

So brilliant to watch the Imps knowing we always give a proper go and never get our heads down if/when we go behind.

As has been said, we look one striker away from a nailed-on promotion spot. But how great is it to be right in the thick of things for a second consecutive season, and to see the club developing so superbly both on and off the pitch...? Happy days.

Top 2 now played home and away and most of our other play-off/promotion to play at home. Should be a very exciting next 4 months.

Should have won that. Notts were on their arse in that final 10 minutes with nothing left in the tank and we had enough chances in the second half to win two games.

Two sides with no interest in playing football this afternoon. Ball smashed up the pitch, set piece, take set piece, ref blows for a foul. Repeat. All game.

We started very slowly and very much looked like a side with a CM playing CB and 3 of the four midfielders making their league debuts. We were all over the shop at times but got back into the game as the half wore on. Stead was winning FK after FK in the first half for very little.

I called a foul in the build up to Notts goal straight away, so it'll be interesting to see the replay of that. Good to get level straight from KO, although I couldn't tell you too much about who set Freck up.

Second half we were much, much better. Well worked goal from us. Their goal was their only shot in the second half I think, which was a mistake by us as Rhead and Bostwick both went for the same ball. Good finish, mind.

An absolutely pathetic referring performance. Nolan steps onto the pitch, waves and point his fingers at the ref, right in his face and stays on the touchline and from that point, we got oompah all. Cowley makes a point about a foul in the build up to Notts first goal, which on first viewing he has a point, and is sent off. It was a difficult game to ref with both sides having their fair share of experienced players who could manage a game but some of the decisions were absolutely baffling. Notts must have gone down 7 or 8 times in their area with apparent head injuries as well. Constantly looking for fouls.

I think we've had two decent shouts for a penalty, certainly one with Rhead when he gets on the right side of Jones as the cross comes in.

The best one, which admittedly was the linesman, was a ball played through, Palmer off side by half a yard, if that, Green runs onto the ball, plays it to Palmer who he and the defenders have since run past and is back onside and he's given offside (and scored).

What struck me about Notts was their lack of pace in the side. Stead doesn't move, Ameobi doesn't move, Hawkridge hasn't got great pace, Grant didn't show any sort of pace (although may have some, I don't know) and the two CB's were slow as well and were constantly getting caught out by Green all game. The only decent bit of pace they had was Jones at LB, who I've always liked as a player.

Probably would have taken a point before the game, but tinged with disappointment in the end.

I thought the disallowed goal was for a foul by Green. There was a bit of a 50/50 coming together with the defender and having endured 90 minutes of that fool in the black, I was watching him when that happened as I knew he was going to blow up. Sure enough, he signalled for a foul straightaway before Palmer got on the ball. That’s how I saw it from where I was anyway.

Whatever the case, yet another terrible but depressingly predictable decision from that clown.

After a shaky first 30 minutes after we scored we have absolutely battered them and should of won two games as Luke mentions. Definitely two points dropped, I think over time County will be brought into the pack they were on gas and air after 70 minutes.

Good debuts for all once we settled down, just felt if Anderson wasn't suspended he was capable of ripping their full backs a new one. However him and Rowey on either wing is a frightening prospect.

One forward lacking?

I think it was given for a foul as the linesman moved up with play. Seems strange that the foul for their first goal wasn't given but this one was. The refs performance summed up in one sentence really. Lets not forget the red card that never appeared as well.

It was predictable before the game that Counteh would do everything to get in the ref's ear. A strong ref was needed but we didn't get one. We are pretty streetwise now as a group but Counteh take it to a new level.

You get the feeling they have had more than their fair share of luck this season. Hopefully second half of season will be different for them.

Another ref conned.

Where's Josh me 'owd?

We are also very much looking forward to today's game. I expect Freck to start, Danny Rowe too. Others may come on later.

I think I called that one pretty well, just missed the start for Jordan Williams.

Excellent game today, sadly ruined (yet again) by an extremely poor referee.
