Just sat in the car before set off back to Pickering. Have come away feeling like I did after Ipswich away, thinking we should have won that.
1st half we looked nervous but came into the game after we equalised, 2nd half we were far the better team and looked the only winner. With a stronger ref we would have won comfortably. Unfortunately looked like rhead and one of the centre half’s got in each other’s way when they equalised.
Think we’ve made some quality signings to go with our already good squad, Freck, Rowe, Williams all looked good.
Good to see nolan’s brought his premiership antics with him, not!!!!!
Up the imps

Like everyone at Sincil Bank today, I was a little dissapointed about not taking the 3 pts, but I was hugely encouraged for the second half of the season. In my humble opinion there were will be not too many of the remaining sides the Imps have to play this season that will live with that intensity.

A great atmosphere in the vicinity of the Bank greeted supporters of both sides prior to the game, and it was good to see a crowd of over 9,600; with 1,400 Notts supporters filling their area of the Stacey West.

After a very poor first 15 minutes we bossed it and should have won comfortably, they could have scored in the second minute and had a chance well saved by Paul Farman. Although there were many new faces, all worked hard for each other. Diabolical defending proved the lead to their first, although Haberghan was fouled during the build up. Frecklington's reply was sweet and shut up the County hordes. County wasted time from very early on and were in no hurry until they went behind.

Two seemingly stonewall penalty appeals were turned down, and both Rhead and Green missed seriously good chances. A well worked goal via Rhead's deft touch and Rowe's driven cross made it to Green who putthe opportunity away. Ten minutes later and against the run of play a rare County attack sees two defenders go for the ball which ends up will Grant. Unmarked, the accomplished finisher cracks it away, off the cross bar.

The last 15 belonged to Lincoln, attack after attack, multiple corners, County timewasting, a disallowed goal, and further missed opportunities, sum up the dominance of the Imps in the latter stages. At the end it was a disappointing result, not helped by some weak refereeing decisions but the potential is there. Some good debuts, a Freck goal, excellent performances from Green, Bossie and Eardley confirmed we are likely to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

Cannot wait to put Barnet to the sword next weekend.

1st things first the referee 1/10 for turning up horror show from him , think we dominated the game after their first goal , could & should have scored 4 or 5 at least , rhead & bostwick poor for their 2nd goal one of them got to take control of situation , apart from that cant remember another shot farman has to make , crowd brill all game , mom matt green ran there two centre backs ragged , eardley & waterfall not far behind uti

I like the 'reviews' in a separate thread. Encourages people to post a proper report rather than just respond to the last comment which happens a lot in the match thread.

Great game to watch.

My first instinct having watched both the league games is why do NCFC spend more time trying to get the opposition booked and sent off than playing to there strengths? All of there rolling around and head injury’s today, yet I don’t think there physio actually came on to the field until the 72nd minute if I remember correctly.

I think DC has done a great job so far in January as the players coming in are from what I have seen in one game, better than what we have or those that have departed.

I can’t wait to see Rowe and Anderson on alternate wings.

I thought Bostwick, Waterfall along with Greene were excellent today.

The ref as has been said was awful. I said before hand it would be a hard game to ref and it was sadly way above his station in my opinion. Numerous big desicions he got wrong.

2500 becomes 9000, its proportionate (or greater) on here, a thread for a more considered view is useful.

Nervous start (Freck's 1st touch nearly cost us !) but once we got going dominated the game, especially 2nd half. Viewed with the naked eye thought there was a push on Sam for 1st goal, watching the goals on C% last night did nothing to change my mind. Disallowed goal, unless there was a push on the blind side of the camera, didn't seem anything wrong either.
If I have a worry to be honest, is someone like Lee Freck may not appreciate the ball going over his head at 100mph all the time, but I presume he did his research before signing

Got a bit more time now to write more than I did on the match thread yesterday.

We started nervously, but Freck's goal settled us. I thought both wingers made excellent starts. Rowe clearly has quality and I loved the tenacity of Williams who was quicker than I expected him to be. With those two and Anderson we are going to cause teams real problems down the flanks. Green ran them silly and certainly deserved his goal.

Thought the pen on Rhead was stonewall and not sure why our goal was not allowed. As I said in my quick write up yesterday Notts have certainly had some luck with refs against us. Personally think they will slip out the top 3, I was more impressed with Luton, Coventry and Mansfield (sorry to say!). And Exeter are also meant to be very good but I have not seen them. And hopefully we can push on of course! The way they were knackered last 20, I think fitness will cost them, and if Jorge Grant goes they'd struggle to replace him. But maybe I am just biased and bitter after our results and lack of luck against them.

Do wonder if Vickers would have come and collected the ball out the air for the goals, especially the first. That said, it could be questioned whether he would have made the save Farman did. But I feel more confident when crosses, free kicks and corners come in with Vickers between the sticks. However, Farman's shot stopping and kicking is excellent.

Forgot to mention, Woodyard was clearly deeper yesterday with Freck pushing on more than Woodyard or Bostwich ever do. But was it just me who thought Freck and Woodyard were a little to far apart at times yesterday? Or are we going a bit 'diamond' in the middle?

Considering Freck had only had one training session, I think it worked okay. There will be plenty of fine tuning to come, with lots of different options.

Just a thought - maybe imagination gone askew - but both games against County have essentially been the same with them struggling to cope with our physical threat. Does anyone else think maybe Hawkridge's inside info about DC's tactics, team attitude, style, etc, to Nolan influenced Nolan's tactics of how to deal with us - that he instructed his players to milk every challenge as 'over-physical' to get the ref on their side? Have we seen this more from County than other teams? Maybe Hawkridge said it's the only way they could beat us.

Their defence, in particular, were embarrassing. I don't think a ball went into the box without one of them feigning attempted murder!
