Wherever he goes (if Nathan is leaving the club), he deserves a huge amount of respect for what he did for the club and for the personal issues he has had. IMO he will always be remembered as a key figure in getting us back into the FL, so will always be welcomed and applauded if he returns to SB playing for someone else.

"One wonders if there has been a breakdown between him and Danny. I fully exepect a departure in the next week or so. Shame, but will always be remembered as an integral part of last season."

I think it's far more likely that Nathan has some issues completely unrelated to football, he's never struck me as anything but a complete professional

I dearly hope I'm wrong, I hope he's in there fighting for his place like the lion we've seen him to be but more than anything I hope whatever he's doing it's what he wants to do. He's got a young family now, he's never made a huge amount out of the game (a lot less than people with half his commitment...*looks at JMD*) and I suspect it's more likely he's trying to do what's best for them as well as him.

Maybe we should leave him to get on with it in his own way and see what happens? He's earned that from us at least I would have thought..

It can't be, it's outside of the transfer window. Only NL Clubs are an option now.

Hope he's ok. Such a lovely, sensitive guy and an absolute linchpin for everything good we did last year...not forgetting, his vital assist in the CT quarter final at Rochdale too. All the very best in whatever you do in the future, Nathan, if this is indeed goodbye. I sincerely hope not, but if it is, may it be wrapped around another glorious promotion.

Arnold or Farman?

Maybe I made a massive assumption but must be Arnold mustn't it?

I agree although Farman was served well last time he went on loan.

Walton clearly isn't good enough for the FL.

Does that require a 'yet' or are we witnessing history being made and you actually think that Danny is wrong on something?

It is a little unsettling not knowing what the situation is but we have to respect Nathan's privacy. Like others knowing what he has had to contend with and his contribution in particular last season I can only offer my heartfelt best wishes and hope that whatever happens it works out well for him and it is in his best interests.

On Loan

I'm led to believe that Nathan has just signed for Salford on a 3 month loan. Interesting move...... thought National League clubs would have been queueing up for him if they knew he was available.

However we have to wish him well as he did us proud last season.

Can’t agree more with the earlier sentiments, he’ll always be an Imp even if he does depart shortly. That Ipswich goal is immortal and the Heed winner wasn’t too shabby either!

Probably gone there as they are full-time, in a good position to be promoted to the Conf Prem and will get a regular game - and he will be very good at that level - someone mentioned the other day the he was in Manchester.

There is nothing on the Salford OS or twitter if he has signed is that a bit odd?

Apparently had a deal with Chesterfield in the transfer window that fell through and some sort of rift with Danny! (just a rumour though)

Looking at the (eligible) squad size, as evidenced by the bench v Chelsea U21, he has a virtually guaranteed trip to Wembley in April, but like some others "already has the tee shirt"

If it does happen, I'm assuming the slightly delay is because it's a maximum of 93 days, and they'll be keen to ensure that the loan covers potential PO's?

Having seen the Class of '92 documentaries, I'm not sure their managers are great 'people people'. They just seem to shout and bawl with no constructive feedback.

Yep took them months to realise that shouting and bawling didn’t work.

Whatever the situation, I am sure it will all be revealed whenever it is. Nathan battles with his demons. He is a thinker and a good man. I hope he is OK.

Agreed Jeff. Whatever happens, he's more than done his bit for us. Hope he's in a good place.
