April 1986 aged 9. 0-0 at home against Wigan sat in the old St Andrews stand. Loved it so much returned the Bristol Rovers game a week later (2-2 or 3-3 I think it was). A young lad called Devon White scored if my memory serves me right.

2 all the rovers game I was there too midweek game, think Warren Ward and Neil Redfearn scored for us.
We were 2 down then their keeper went off injured, another bloke went let one in then another bloke went in and he let the leveller in!
We lost the remaining games that season and got relegated...

I was 9.
Early March 1982 we beat Brentford 1-0 Hobson scored( nearly always seemed to when I went back then!)
We beat them 2-1 the following year on the same weekend, it was just Gilbert Blades had left as chairman. Cockerill scored a brilliant goal and Derek Bell got the winner.
My daughter's first game was a friendly against Doncaster Rovers we won in 2014, Power scored a belter for the second.

City v Burnley FAC 3rd round replay Jan 1977. Lost 1 - 0 in front of 12,000+. All I can remember was being on the wall in the old St. Andrews paddock and liking Burnleys shirts. Claret with a blue V on the front.

That's interesting. I previously posted on a previous thread that we had watched Lincoln v Burnley in the FAC 3rd round in 1960 from the St Andrews paddock (rather than Sincil Bank side where we normally stood). On that occasion I was taken by the all white strip Burnley played in with claret and blue trim - it was really striking. I remember the socks had two coloured rings on the turnover at the top, as was quite fashionable in that era (Imps played in red socks with solid white tops)

I think it was 27th March 1978, Lincoln v Colchester 0 v 0, pretty sure sat or stood next to the wall at the front of the Sincil Terrace. Don't remember anything about the game itself.

I’m torn between Lincoln v Swansea town a 2-2 draw about 1970. Lincoln v barrow another 2-2 draw I think around the same time, or the David Hurd testimonial... 9-6 was it?

1976-ish, a 3-0 home win, can't remember who against - maybe tonight's opponents Cambridge, (although that might have been the following year, which was a televised match)... Ha ha :rolling:

Correct, it was a televised match, played on a frozen pitch if memory serves.

Peter Grotier was a cool as a cucumber that day, according to John Helm?

Good Friday 1976. 2-0 win against Stockport with a great Percy Freeman header. Second game was actually the next day when we thumped Doncaster 5-0 with a Dave Smith howitzer still playing in my head. Stood on the old Sincil Bank terraces. Happy days

Sorry mate, either it wasn't Sheff U or it wasn't Ron Springett. Springett was an Owl. We did get hammered at home by the Blades in 1961, the year we went down from Div 2.

Boxing Day 1968, v Port Vale. Should have been a few days earlier v Bradford City, but I had a cold and wasn't allowed to go, we won 2-0 Bobby Svarc scored on his debut. Vale we lost 1-0, remember the big crowd(12,000); the noise from the South Park stand where they stamped their feet on the wooden floor; Gordon Hughes disappearing into the South Park terrace having put over a cross for big Norman.

Interestingly(!) with some of the other posts, 2nd match was the 0-0 v Rochdale later in the season, birthday treat - freezing cold, very foggy (think Oldham last season, for whole match) which made the atmosphere special, I was hooked.

First match I saw City score did inlcude a hat-trick, Ron Gray gave Rod Fletcher a go and he bagged 3 in a 4-1 win over Workington, and I had my first proper Imps hero.

I've just qualified for my concessionary ticket prices, I do feel old!

That game is one of the match's that is on the DVD "Imps in Action" that i bought from the club shop about 6 or 7 years ago. Could still be available. There's a row of blue disabled vehicles lined up along the pitch in front of the St Andrew Stand in that particular game.
