8 Lee Frecklington

Born in Lincoln Freck got one of the few scholarships handed out in our fair City before the Hobbs money kick started the fountain of Youth. Remember Freck chose his hometown club when most were going to Sheffield or Nottingham. Well OK after Schoey had talked him into leaving the Norwich Accademy. Schoey non famous for his line in chat became his coach and mentor.

Out of the blue he made his debut in the Imps first round match of the LDV Vans Trophy against Telford United in October 2003. In the summer of 2005 Keith, who hadn`t completely given up on him as a central defender, gave him a one-year contract. In his first season he has bagged 10 set up countless others and taken League 2 by storm.

Last time out the injuries curtailed a promising season. Though towards the end of the season the trade mark pirouette and eye for goal had returned. In a strong side we will see the best of the prancing passing prince this season. Frecks is a class act still half a dozen years from his prime. Pleased to say he now has a contract extension to keep him at Sincil Bank until the summer of 2011.

Big season for him I think. Hopefully there should be more players in the team on his wavelength to bring the best out of him. In the last couple of season only Forrester really did that IMO.

Got to agree with monkeyg here, and what is more we seemed to pick up more points without him in the team last season.
