Average Player Ratings V Forest Green (A)
City went down 4-1 to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday. Here's how the travelling support rated the performance! Thanks to Bumbleimp, Steve O'Dare and Stevie_Imp for contributing their ratings after the long trip to Gloucestershire.
Despite conceding four goals, fans rated experienced defender Nat Brown as City's best player. He scored 6.67 with Bumbleimp noting that despite the scoreline, Brown won every header and tackled well. The centre-half received scores of 7 from both Bumbleimp and Steve O'Dare.
Second place then goes to loanee forward Chris Sharp, who scored City's only goal to open his account with the Imps. He beat his mark of 6.00 at Southport with a score of 6.50 on Saturday, despite being withdrawn by Gary Simpson just after the hour mark. After that, not many players managed to score over the average mark of 6. Sean Newton and Mo Fofana share third, both landing scores of 6.33, while Jon Nolan (6.17) rounds off the decent performances.
Unfortunately, one or two players fared less well. Dan Gray kept his place at right back but didn't impress, scoring just 4.00. That was the worst score of the starting players and to put that into perspective, Tom Miller is yet to drop below 6. Ben Tomlinson meanwhile only managed a score of 5, with Bumbleimp arguing that he didn't do much apart from run!
That said, he fared a lot better than the two substitute forwards Nick Wright and Bohan Dixon. The two have often failed to impress in red and white this season and Wright (2.00) and Dixon (1.67) did little to change the game on Saturday!
There was little variation in scores across the three posters, with Bumbleimp and Stevie_Imp's marks both being at an average of 5.15, while Steve O'Dare was just behind (5.08).
In terms of the overall standings, Tom Miller retakes the lead at the top of the chart by virtue of not playing! His average is an excellent 6.89, narrowly ahead of Newton (6.88).Full ratings are as follows:
