Rate The Ref : Chris Kavanagh V Grimsby
After the Grimsby game we introduced a new idea to the Site called 'Rate The Ref' after it proved popular on a poll we did. This will now be done after every home and away game with the average rating and comments being published on the Front Page.
The referee for our game against Grimsby Town was Chris Kavanagh.
The lowest rating, which was given by libertine, was a 3 and the reason given was 'because we should have ended the match with about 7 players.'
The highest rating was a 10, which was given by implincs69, and this is why: 'think he was spot on with everything and tried to play the advantage but brought it back when it led to nothing. Wish he could ref us every game.'
The average overall rating of Chris Kavanagh was 7.77

'8/10 for me. Got the yellow cards right and wasn't helped by some silly tackles - I'm sorry but if you slide in like that in the first few seconds you don't give the referee any choice. Got a number of other decisions correct, and although I thought at the time that the Sheridan sending off was harsh you can understand why he's given it, other leg comes through and it's the kind of tackle that is a red nowadays every time.' imps_joe:
'7/10 Though he did well considering some of the tackles that were flying in, it was a really tricky game for him to referee. I feel sorry Jake as he did really well, with no support, dived in to tackle and was given the red. I just thought it was harsh given the tackles which we'd seen previously in the match, which I didn't think were much worse. So a little bit inconsistent on that front for me. How Power stayed on the pitch I have no idea, he must have been very close to getting a 2nd yellow.'Rasenimp:
'We definitely need (as a side) better discipline. The problem is that we aren't cynical (in the way Hatton and Bignot were bringing down Robinson when he'd done them for pace), but instead we pick up our bookings for late tackles in some irrelevant area of the pitch.
If we were getting these yellow cards for stopping runs or pulling people down like their yellow cards, I wouldn't mind so much. But they're always in stupid areas of the pitch!'imps1:
'8/10. Most consistent ref seen at the bank this season, got the yellow and reds right in my opinion, good spot by him to pick out the cod who kicked the ball to the touch line to waste time as well.'plumbob:
'7/10. Difficult game for him to be fair. Fair enough red card for me and aside from one of ours I thought he got the yellows right. Think he maybe missed a pen for us first half when the left back shouldered Tomlinson before the ball arrived, but in fairness it should have been the lino's call.'
