Average Player Ratings V Grimsby (A)
A battling City display saw them bounce back from a hammering at Halifax and previous derby day disappointment against Grimsby to earn an important point.
Luke Foster (8.29) was the star man at the heart of the Imps' defence, with posters praising his solidity. Steve O'Dare was so impressed with the defender that he argued he would 'make him captain', while johnolbe awarded him a 9 noting that a goal line clearance topped an excellent display.
Unusually, lots of players scored well and competed for second place with that award narrowly going to Sean Newton (7.86). The left-back missed the first derby due to suspension and it was clear City had missed his dynamism down the flank! Tornado imp praised his 'great deliveries' while imps1964 was also enthused, noting the quality of his set pieces.
Third place was then shared between Tom Miller and diminutive midfielder Jon Nolan who returned to the starting lineup following a long injury lay off. Both players scored 7.71 - marks which included several 9s - and were praised across the board. Kingearls praised Nolan's retention of the ball while Steve O'Dare noted that the midfielder made a number of 'driving runs'.
Honourable mentions then go to Paul Farman (7.57) and Todd Jordan (7.57) who landed marks which would regularly put them top of player ratings table. Both players have sometimes come away with disappointing scores but those marks are really impressive starts to 2013! Danny Rowe and Conner Robinson (both 7.43) also put in good shifts.
The only player to score poorly was unsurprisingly Bohan Dixon, whose early sending off put City under a lot of pressure! Dixon scored 2.71 which is actually more than he got at Halifax for a full game! Several posters said they would not be displeased if he did not turn out for the Imps again.
In terms of poster averages everyone was pretty positive this week! The average score was 7.13, with the happiest Vital users being Skeggyimp and Kingearls who both marked the Imps at 7.64. CrazyTuba - who was the harshest poster last week - has certainly changed from his early season generosity coming in well below the average at 6.18.Full ratings are as follows:
