Who Are Ya? - #ChesterFC

Thanks to Andy for answering this weeks questions.

Who do you support?

Chester FC

How long have you supported them?

1993/94 season, I was born in 1989 so only little at the time so don't remember much of it from quite that far back though. It was our second season at the Deva, back in the City after our temporary exile in Macc.

Last season's league finish?

1st - Blue Square North - It was a great season, we completely ran away with the league and wrapped it up with four games to spare, only losing one all season up to that point. We finished just the 32 points ahead of Halifax who came up with us through the play-offs, and then you look at this year's table!

What do you think of your (new) manager?

I was surprised when it was announced, there had been a few rumours circulating that Burr might have come in for it. I feel pretty confident he'll guide us to safety, his record is simply won three and lost three, but before under Neil Young we were drawing far too many games. He's got a positive outlook and has installed some much needed confidence in to the players (and fans).

How has your season gone so far in comparison to your pre-season expectations/hopes?

I thought we might be six/seven places higher up the table, in no man's land really. We lost our best player for an undisclosed fee to Fleetwood in the summer, missed out on the permanent signing of a lad we on loan to Inverness and failed to bring back another who had a great loan spell too. Our three best players from last season moved on, they're the match winners we've missed. I think we've been victims of our own success somewhat.

Was it the correct time for Neil Young to leave the Club?

I think so, we'll never forget what he did for the club but I think it was just one step too far for him, we had a torrid start losing the first five games and it knocked everybody's confidence. We became quite negative, almost taking a point out of games before they'd even began, we often got them.

Steve Burr currently has a contract until the end of the season. Is there any automatic clause in there that gives him a new one if you survive or is everything being left until May?

I think it will all be left until May. To be honest if we go down I expect he'll go, if we stay up there's a good chance he'll stay.

When we met back in December, we were in the middle of a period where we were down to the bare bones through injury/suspensions. Since then, you've won three, drawn two and lost three. Has there been an improvement since that game?

We've improved without doubt, we're picking up points at a quicker rate and look more competitive. We've made a few signings since who have come in and have helped us look more of a threat going forward.

Thoughts on Lincoln City?

Another ex-league club struggling to adapt to the Conference, you aren't alone, at least. You're pretty much where I thought you'd be in the league. I think you're safe enough though and would expect you to improve next season.

Score prediction?

2-2
