'Thought he was one of the better ones we've had if im honest, couldn't tell if it was a pen but was spot on with booking their no.7 for diving then 2nd yellow after foul on Newts :-) didn't have too much to do really!!'Rigby23:
'7 from me.
Thought he made a couple of mistakes but was alright for the most part. Gets a 7 instead of a 6 for making the right call on the sending off, I thought both were bookings and he gave them.'Steve O'Dare:
'I give him an 8. Excellent display from what looked like a young referee.'Snats:
'7 from me, although I think you'd get a very different response from the Cambridge fans. They were not happy!'Rasenimp:
'6. I thought card for diving harsh, he overran it but looked like miller checked him. Second one handball or late on miller take your pick. Penalty was hit from close but stopped a goal and if its outstretched not sure you can have many qualms.'CrazyTuba:
'I will give an 8, thought he had a good game, thought we should have had a few more free kicks, there was a few pushes and elbows, but got big decisions spot on!!!'Stevie_imp:
'7 from me. Too far away to judge the penalty. Think he was correct on booking the dive. Reasonable ref for this level and got most things right.'Luke Imp:
Couple of weird free kicks for either side which should have gone the other way. Looked a pen to me, their guy looked to go down easily for the first booking and for the second one he had his back to me in the Co-op but told it was studs in the stomach and you don't get away with those!
He generally gave players a chance or two before booking them, like Sheridan who had already kicked the ball away once before getting booked.'Big Jack McGinley:
'I don't think the penalty incident stopped a goal - certainly not from my position. It looked like he was blocking a cross, it hit the defenders knee then struck his arm. In truth, I think it was a very harsh decision and if it did stop a goal then the player should have been sent off.
As for the actual sending off, I too thought that was harsh. He may have gone down a bit easily but if there was any contact then he can't really be sure that he's dived. The foul on Adams looked (again, only from my position) a bit worse than it probably was. Not sure there was too much contact but Adams certainly made the most of it...'Past Articles:Rate The Ref - Chris Kavanagh V Grimsby Town.Rate The Ref - Anthony Backhouse V FC Halifax Town.Rate The Ref - Darren Handley V Grimsby Town.Rate The Ref - Ross Joyce V Luton Town.Rate The Ref - Simon Bennett V Alfreton Town.Rate The Ref - Ben Toner V North Ferriby.Rate The Ref - Adrian Holmes V Macclesfield Town.Rate The Ref - Jason Whiteley V Woking FC.Rate The Ref - Wayne Barratt V FC Halifax Town.Rate The Ref - Karl Evans V Nuneaton Town.Rate The Ref - Martin Coy V Hyde FC.Rate The Ref - Ben Toner V Kidderminster Harriers.Rate The Ref - Colin Lymer V Chester FC.Rate The Ref - Adam Bromley V The Shots.Rate The Ref - Ross Joyce V Alfreton Town.Rate The Ref - Karl Evans V Welling United.Rate The Ref - Amy Fearn V Braintree Town (H).Rate The Ref - Daniel Cook V Braintree Town (A).Rate The Ref - Peter Banks V Gateshead.Rate The Ref - Paul Rees V Tamworth.Rate The Ref - Jason Whiteley V Dartford.Rate The Ref - Craig Hicks V Salisbury City.
