Average Player Ratings V Kidderminster (H)
Nick Townsend and Jon Nolan scored the joint highest (7.50) as City opened their 2014/15 campaign with a 0-0 draw against Kidderminster Harriers.
Townsend justified Gary Simpson's decision to make the Birmingham stopper his 'number 1', tipping Craig Reid's left footed curler around the post before palming another drive by the Kidderminster forward over the crossbar. Posters praised the on-loan 'keeper shot stopping as well as his commanding presence.
Nolan meanwhile started the season in fine style, spreading the play and trying to get City moving by keeping the ball on the deck. Stevie_Imp remarked that Nolan 'played his socks off' while Luke Imp praised the extra positivity in his passing. An excellent start to the season from the young midfielder, who only mustered three higher marks than 7.50 in the entire 2013/14 campaign.
No players came particularly close to these two, although Jake Caprice can be pleased with his competitive debut for the Imps. The summer signing scored 6.86, providing a positive outlet going forward and linking up well with Marcus Marshall. Snats thought the right-back should have been man of the match, while others praised his contribution as 'solid'.
Debutants Jordan Burrow and Marcus Marshall scored 6.18 and 6.36 respectively, while the returning Hamza Bencherif and Tony Diagne netted marks of 6.21 and 6.29. All slightly above the average mark of 6!
Impede's mean score was the highest (7.17), awarding just one six, while Rigby23 awarded all twelve players six and ended up with the lowest average! The team average was 6.48.
Remember to rate the Imps after their trip to Altrincham on Tuesday night, and thanks to all who left their thoughts in the thread this weekend!
