The Vital Lincoln City Members voted for who they believe was The Imps Man of The Match when we beat Barnet 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in the Football Conference.

Here's how the poll finished:

Townsend: 56.52%
Newton: 0%
Diagne: 0%
Nolan: 21.74%
Brown: 13.04%
Caprice: 0%
Mendy: 0%
Bencherif: 8.70%
Tomlinson: 0%
Burrow: 0%
Power: 0%

Let's look at the comments:

redstriper: "A gutsy and, in the first half, classy performance. The only one who was particularly below par was Marshall who struggled with the pace and was guilty of dallying on a couple of occasions that could've been punished.

Townsend man of the match by a mile, though. He's on a different planet. Please god let his height stop him succeeding at Brum and force him here, because he's outstanding."

Belshazzar: "I think given how Townsend kept us in front I am going to have to give him the motm but it's really tight between him and Nolan for me. With special mentions for Hamza and Nat brown too."

German Imp: "Hamza - Solid Performance."

Rigby23: "Townsend for me. Made some top saves yet again and gathered in the balls into the box in the second half."

BrownImp: "Townsend was incredible! Nolan, Hamza and Brown were all really, really solid, and Newton was his usual self, with some excellent deliveries."

Luke Imp: "In terms of 'proper' saves, he probably made one, which was the top class one in the first half that was heading right in the top corner.

What he does very well it get out of his goal to close the angle and blocks things more.

Does that make sense?!

I thought Newton, Nolan, Bencherif and Brown were all outstanding as well. As were most, tbh.

Gone with Brown, though. If the shorts had pockets in, Akinde would be in there."

Rasenimp: "Looked like Townsend made a ridiculous save scrambling to his left at the end too. He has to be motm but of the outfield players maybe Brown, so solid. They were all great though, Newts marauding forward, Nolan picking the passes, Hamza spot on in both boxes, Mendy spoiling.... Just brilliant."

implincs69: "Gone for Nat Brown. Like Luke says he had Akinde in his pocket. Townsend was immense too, you just feel so much more confident when we are defending corners with him in goal. Great team performance, real backs to the wall stuff!"

Rasenimp: "Townsend and Newts in NLP team of the week. Nolan unlucky not to be too as well as CBs!"

YatesyImp: "Gone for Nat, think he was outstanding against Akinde."
