3.30 For Anthony Backhouse v York City (a)

3.30 For Anthony Backhouse v York City (a)
The Referee for our 2-1 defeat away at York City in the Semi-Finals of The Buildbase FA Trophy was Anthony Backhouse.

Let's take a look at the comments:

sicraggs1: "I would give him a 3, first half I thought he was OK apart from not booking a couple of their players for bad and persistent fouls.

2nd half he was absolutely awful."

plumbob: "It was absolutely nailed on that he would book one of ours the first chance he got, having warned them 5 or 6 times previous. Even after booking Angol for not retreating at the free kick he didn't make him move any further away!

The none corner late on put the tin hat on an abysmal performance. My mark is in no way influenced by our loss, as we were equally poor second half. He gets 2/10 from me and is lucky at that!"

ImpfromWashy: "3 Very poor performance. Let three or four really rash/cynical challenges go and then as Plumbob says he goes and books Angol for a minor infringement. Made quite a few wrong decisions after that as well including one where their keeper tipped a header over the bar and he awarded a goal kick; even their keeper turned around and grinned at us."

GoBC: "Angol didn't budge an inch, referee ran over to book him - seemingly having given Angol no previous warning, and at the insistence of York - and then left him exactly where he was 'infringing' while the kick was taken. With no further complaint from York either. Just bizarre.

The goalkeeper's tip over the bar, and then a goalkick, was plain ridiculous.

Actually thought he'd left cards in the dressing room, first half. Should have booked 2/3 York players for fouls, so I'll give him 3."

GavinALaugh: "1 for the penalty, 1 for finding his way onto the pitch and 1 for managing to find his way off it at the end. 3/10."
