Who Are Ya? - Torquay United

Who Are Ya? - Torquay United
Thank you to Torquay United Supporter Craig for answering these questions!

How Long Have You Supported Torquay United?

I can remember as far back as the 2003/2004 season, with the prominence of David Graham being the reason I remember it so well! Here is a link to the game l remember most during that time! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAfYTWeAT-w - Although l have photographic evidence of me in a TUFC bib as a newborn if that counts?!

Last Season's League Finish?

18th - The Great Escape of 2015/16.

What Do You Think Of Your Manager?

After revelations of the pressures and circumstances he has been working under from the General Manager and the owner's GI, I think he has done one hell of a job. There was a time where it was looking likely he was gone for sure and most would have been happy but fair play to the man. If it was any other manager they would have disappeared out of choice months ago. The only one left behind the scenes who actually has TUFC at heart. KEVIN NICHO'S YELLOW ARMY!

Hopes/Expectations This Season?

After last season and the form we showed in Pre-Season, especially the 2-1 win over a PL strength West Brom team (yes I know it means nothing..), a mid-table finish would have been sufficient but we at TUFC are either fighting for promotion or relegation, nothing in between and as you can see, it isn't going well...

One(s) To Watch?

Luke Young is one of the best midfielders in the league on his day, Dan Sparkes has one hell of a left foot, Brett Williams can score goals but his work rate is questionable at times and last but not least Ruairi Keating, never stops running, scored a couple of goals and looks a handful!

Top Five Predictions?

Lincoln City, Tranmere Rovers, Forest Green Rovers, Dagenham & Redbridge and Dover Athletic.

Bottom Four Predictions?

North Ferriby United, Southport FC, Braintree Town and Woking FC (hopefully!!).

Thoughts on Lincoln City?

A Non-League club to be proud of and one to look up to as an example of what can be achieved puts the likes of Forest Green Rovers to shame! Danny Cowley has been a revelation and it just goes to show that there are not just players in the lower depths of Non-League that can make the step up, I hope you go up automatically this season!

Score Prediction?

Heart: 1-2 Torquay.
Head: 3-0 Lincoln.

Random Fact About Your Club?

Ruairi Keating is the nephew of the famous singer Ronan Keating.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Torquay United Supporter?

Proudest: THAT header from Zorro himself, Tim Sills to secure the 2-0 win vs Cambridge United in the 2009 NL Play-Offs, the nerves settled a little after that went in!

Embarrassing: The horrendous losses at home to Guiseley and Sutton this season have got to be the lowest I've felt leaving Plainmoor knowing what the results meant for us in the league at the time and how if we'd have won them both, things would be different now...

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

We're so special, We have Two. TUOST - the 'Official' Supporters Club and the TUST. The TUOST have been irrelevant in standing up for the supporters and the issues that have risen since GI have taken charge of TUFC, (Due to it being an in-house made Supporters Trust) TUST on the other hand, have the club at heart and their intentions including the creation of an ACV, Asset of Community Value regarding Plainmoor is what is needed to safeguard the hopeful future of Plainmoor. TUST and the wider TUFC audience from the forums to the press need to pull together and continue to question the moves of GI and its intentions for TUFC.

Which was your favourite match involving Torquay United?

Easy, 2-0 win vs Cambridge United in the 2009 NL Play-Offs.

Take a look:

Which was your least favourite match involving Torquay United?

3-2 defeat to Sutton this season, Damn right(back in goal) embarrassing.

What ever became of the dog, following that infamous bite, at the end of the season in 1987?

Ahhh Byrn, He became a legend amongst TUFC fans for helping to save us from relegation, his whereabouts after that game are unknown!
