Average Player Ratings v Carlisle United (h)
Delight at Sincil Bank on Saturday as City won their first game back in the Football League, and what a way to do it! Another gate of 8,000+ saw Alex Woodyard score his first goals in the FL, and his first double for the Imps, while Matt Rhead and impressive substitute Billy Knott also notched their first FL goals for the club. Keith Curle expected Lincoln to be big and very direct, with Paul Farman landing every kick on the penalty spot; some very detailed and effective analysis there, Keith. Some Carlisle fans thought they were the better side; well, had they scored only another 4 goals, they might even have proved it. Dean Walling will be gutted after seeing 'his team' thrashed by one he obviously no longer values. But which City players sent Mr Walling home with his tail firmly between his legs?

In first place for the second time this season comes ALEX WOODYARD, who suddenly appears to have noticed the presence of the wooden box with the net nailed to it. Has the addition of the more physical Michael Bostwick created space for Alex to get forward?

"Did his usual great work and added two good goals. First a cracking first hit finish then the second he won it, ran on and then stuck it in left footed. Passing was also very good again. It's like Bostwick takes the leash off him and he is better going forward." (Gaz_Imp)

"Two quality goals and another rolls royce performance." (Davidimp)

"Now adding goal threat to his all round game. Will boldly state that he is the best Lincoln player in a generation." (Cricklewoodimp)

In second place we have SEAN RAGGETT, appearing in the top two for the fourth time in five games. We have him for a minimum of 24 more games before he disappears to the Broads - make sure you enjoy all 24.

"Clearly looking like a Championship player." (Stevie_imp)

"Missed nothing, brought the ball out of defence, could have scored: brilliant." (berksimps)

"Another accomplished performance from Mr Dependable. Must say his distribution was top notch." (German Imp)

Taking third place this week is MATT GREEN, whose tireless running has already made a great impression on fans. He didn't get on the scoresheet despite another excellent performance, but the goals will surely come.

"What a superb striker - frightens the death out of defenders with his pace and control in and around the box. A joy to watch. A goal would have been well-deserved but he will get his share this year." (PerthImp)

"Brilliant performance and really important for the team, selfless running and created things from nothing. Frightens defences." (Dreaming of McAuley)

"Won the pen from nothing, great channel runner like Robinson but with quality." (Red Wimp)

The average team score of 7.17 is the highest of the season so far. Alex Woodyard's average score of 8.80 is the highest individual rating of the season. Only JMD failed to achieve the par score of 6.0, and that was marginal.

1. Alex Woodyard 8.80
