Average Player Ratings v Barnet (h)
It may have been a narrow 2-1 win after playing the opposition off the park in the first half, but you get no more points for thrashing the opposition 2-1 than you do for a nerve-jangler. At this stage of our existence, that will do fine. To be in the top half after ten games with the smallest squad in the Football League is no mean achievement. Compare that with the shambolic start from the other promoted side, Forest Green, who until very recently were still claiming they had better players and played better football than us. At the start of the season, Mr Vince stated in his 'speak first, think later' fashion that League Two is easier to get out of than the National League. I presume he didn't mean in a downwards direction.

sic transit gloria cooper.

Taking top spot for the first time in his fledgling Imps career is OLLIE PALMER, who got the side off to a great start after 7 minutes. He still managed to keep up his record of only having finished one game - he has either been substituted or has come on as a sub in the other 11 games to date. That is odd, considering he is our joint-top scorer.

"Proved the knockers wrong, led the line with pace and power. Good goal and a great 45 minutes. Match deciding performance." (johnolbe)

"Great to see the big man get a chance. Excellent goal, energetic and tested the keeper on other occasions. Assured performance." (syimp)

"Did really well and took his goal excellently. Showed power and pace, along with some good footwork. On that evidence, has done enough to be starting against Grimsby." (The Imposter)

In second place is one of the other joint-top scorers, HARRY ANDERSON, who scored for the third game in four. With patchy initial form from Jordan Maguire-Drew and the continued absence of Nathan Arnold, Harry appears to have nailed down a starting berth for the time being.

"Getting better every game. Brilliant on and off the ball." (Snats)

"I love watching this guy, really hungry, my kind of winger. That's 3 in 4 games and was only denied a 2nd by a great save." (Dreaming of McAuley)

"What potential. Raw but willing to get by his man. Good finish and unlucky not to score more." (elkimp)

In third place comes MICHAEL BOSTWICK, who took top spot in the defeat at Notts County. With the big man now finding a good degree of consistency, the only thing missing is a goal.

"Seems to be getting better now with each game." (cambridgeimp83)

"Not as mobile as Woodyard but works just as hard and broke up their play." (cooperativeimp)

"Good first half. Shut down Barnet attacks despite all their possession in the second." (Stevie_imp)

The average team score of 6.67 is exactly what you would expect from a hard-won home win. Every player achieved at least the par score, although Josh Ginnelly divided opinion with scores ranging widely from 5.0 to 7.0.

1. Ollie Palmer 7.60
2. Harry Anderson 7.55
3. Michael Bostwick 7.05

4. Neal Eardley 7.00
5. Rob Dickie 6.80
6. Sean Raggett 6.70
7. Alex Woodyard 6.60
8. Sam Habergham 6.40
9. Josh Vickers 6.15
10. Elliott Whitehouse 6.10
11. Matt Green 6.05
12. Josh Ginnelly 6.00
