Average Player Ratings v Chesterfield (h)

Average Player Ratings v Chesterfield (h)
According to the Thursday press conference, some fans were critical of the performance against Chesterfield. Were they critical of the scoreline or the performance itself? Even Bob's Board agreed Lincoln should have had four or five - would the same fans have been critical if they had?

There's your answer.

This is confirmed by the average team score of 6.95, which is the highest for a home match since the 4-1 win over Carlisle in August.

Poor performance? Nope.

ALEX WOODYARD returns to the top this week after another excellent performance. Further to his own individual ability, a formidable partnership with Bostwick of Nazareth continues to emerge.

"Was involved in everything and is an absolute pest for the opposition in the midfield and is always looking to transition the ball quickly into attack. No doubt above this level." (Jordanimp)

"Made the difference especially first half. All round excellence." (German Imp)

"Excellent first half, set the tempo." (johnolbe)

In second place comes MICHAEL BOSTWICK, confirming the growing strength of that midfield partnership with Woodyard. A monkey is off his back with that goal, they all count regardless of how they go in.

"A beast of a player who has finally got his bearings. Crunching tackles and has now found the net." (syimp)

"Powerful, battled for everything, deserved his goal." (impsimps)

"Superb and nice to see him spend time further up the pitch in the second half." (takeyourblueshirtoff)

HARRY ANDERSON takes third spot with another powerful performance. Speed, skill and strength must be a nightmare to play against, and he is still only 20.

"Stunning for the first 70 minutes, shows great belief and provided most of the excitement but faded after being injured and then gave away the penalty." (berksimps)

"Liveliest player on the pitch. Runs at his man. More often beats his man. Tracks back well. Unlucky on the pen." (elkimp)

"Would have been 8.5 and MOM but for the penalty, he was brilliant apart from that." (Dreaming of McAuley)
