Who Are Ya? - Luton Town (#1)

Who Are Ya? - Luton Town (#1)
Thank you to Luton Town supporter Alan for answering these questions!

How Long Have You Supported Luton Town?

Since Dec 1st 1966. We beat Exeter 2-0 FA Cup 1 Replay when 2nd bottom in Div 4. 2 days later we lost at the bottom side LINCOLN 8-1!!!!! - we've never conceded 8 since.

Last Season's League Finish?

An agonising 4th. 8 points behind the automatics, too many draws and blew it v Blackpool in the Play Offs.

What Do You Think Of Your Manager?

Hopes/Expectations This Season?

Nothing short of automatic Promotion.

One(s) To Watch?

The whole side, but seriously - Hylton, Collins up front - Shinnie, Berry midfield and players of the season to date defenders Sheehan and Potts.

Top Seven Predictions?

Luton, Notts County top two - any of Exeter, Lincoln or Coventry to join us in 3rd. Wycombe and Mansfield should make the other two spots.

Bottom Two Predictions?

Hopefully Forest Green Rovers and between Morecambe or Barnet.

Thoughts on Lincoln City?

Great to see you back in the Football League - like us, where you belong. NYD will be my 12th clash since 1967.

Score Prediction?

3-1 Hatters.

Random Fact About Your Club?

Luton v Lincoln will be my 1,804th Hatters match attended - the 1,173rd at Kenilworth Road.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Luton Town Supporter?

Proudest: 1988 beating Arsenal 3-2 League Cup Final.

Most embarrassing: losing 5-1 to Gateshead at Carlisle in the Conference 2013 in front of just 372 fans (126 lunatic Hatters)

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

Yes, a vital one.

Which was your favourite match involving Luton Town?

1) 1988 League Cup 3-2 win v Arsenal.

2) 1983 Maine road Man City 0 Luton 1 to relegate THEM instead of us from Div 1.

Which was your least favourite match involving Luton Town?

see above Gateshead at Carlisle 2013.

Any viable plans for a new ground? (Hopefully motorway junction sites and places like Dunstable are no longer on the menu!)

We are now VERY close (I predict March 2018) to finally getting approval for our two sites. One by the M1 for hotel/high quality Retail etc and the 17,700 initial (rising to 22,500) Power Court ground slap bang in the town centre between two Luton rail stations. They WILL get approval.

Do you need a holding midfielder? Your rumoured to be about to make a cheap 250k bid for our midfielder Alex Woodyard!

No we do not.

Nathan Jones general demeanour comes across as a bit arrogant and cocky. Is that something Luton fans notice?

No. He is THE most passionate Manager we have EVER had and we LOVE him for it. He is in actual fact a man of God and not in the slightest bit cocky/arrogant.

He also seems to come out with lots of excuses if you've not won. Bobbly pitch seems to be his favourite.

I've honestly never noticed that. What I HAVE done is that every opposing Manager we have tanked (like 8-2, 7-1, 7-0) have all slated their own team without giving Luton the slightest bit of credit at all.

Nathan Jones was a bit left field of an appointment to many but is doing well. How did he get the attention of the Luton board and what are his qualities?

He was actually a player on Luton's books in 1995 (never played a 1st team game). His qualities are his passion and eye for young talent. Believe me though, there were some so called Luton fans who incredibly wanted him out after we blew the Play Offs and lost 0-3 at home to Swindon & Coventry. One defeat in 23 games has got rid of them though (lol).

Happy New Year to you Jules and all Imps.
