Average Player Ratings v Forest Green Rovers (h)
And so a great month comes to an end with a delightful victory over relegation-bound Forest Green. With City also in with a chance of promotion, there is a very good prospect of never having to encounter this strange club again as long as we live, and that is reason for celebration if ever there was one.

Taking top spot for the third time this month is MATT RHEAD, who has returned to the side in top form. Many supporters doubted whether Rhead could have a similar impact in League Two - especially considering the opinions from Mansfield supporters - but he has answered those doubts in emphatic fashion.

"What a performance! Scored two, won every header. Chested a pass, took the ball down for lay-offs and played intelligent throughballs to his strike partner. Immense in every way." (syimp)

"Won his headers, made his lay offs and took his chances. UNPLAYABLE." (hulloutpost)

"Superb link-up play again, two goals (including a diving header). As usual, when he went off we were totally unable to hold the ball upfield and kept inviting them on to us. It'll cost us one day." (takeyourblueshirtoff)

In second place comes the fearsome HARRY ANDERSON, rumoured to be on the shopping list of a number of League One and Championship clubs. It is hard to believe that he is not 21 until next week.

"Thought he ripped their defence to pieces especially on the right." (German Imp)

"Great switch from left to right which let Eardley deliver a cracking cross." (Stevie_imp)

"Great performance again, looking at him near the end we have to be careful not to burn him out." (nlondonimp)

Third place goes to signing of the season NEAL EARDLEY, surely the Theo Robinson of 2017-18. Northampton Town are currently five points adrift at the foot of League One, and must be kicking themselves over this one.

"Just another superb performance from this guy, great ball for the opener then a vital block towards the end. So lucky to have him, player of the season so far?" (Davidimp)

"Quality as per usual and another great assist." (Dreaming of McAuley)

"Great find, another sublime cross." (Woodis)

The average team score of 7.17 is the third highest of the season. For the second successive game, every player scored over 6.50.
